Brand positioning services for businesses that want to stop competing on price
If your customers can’t say in one sentence why they chose you over the other guy, you don’t have a positioning problem — you have a pricing problem waiting to happen. Made Right Media helps businesses in Boise and across Idaho decide what they stand for, who they’re for, and what they should say about it.
Look at ten businesses in the same category and read their websites. Nine of them say the same thing: quality, service, experience, trust. Family-owned. Here for you. It’s all true, and it’s all invisible, because when everyone says it, nobody hears it.
That’s what happens without positioning. You end up describing your category instead of your business. And when a customer can’t tell the difference between you and your competitors, they do the only thing left — they compare prices.
Positioning is the decision to be specifically for someone, specifically good at something, and specifically different in a way that customer cares about. It’s a decision most businesses never make on purpose. When you do, everything downstream gets easier: the website writes itself, the ads get cheaper, and the sales conversation starts from “I’ve heard you’re the ones who...” instead of “so what do you charge?”
Part of the Made Right Model for Growth
Brand Positioning is a Clarity phase service. It sits between research and execution: research tells us what your market believes and what your competitors claim; positioning decides what you’ll claim that they can’t. It’s the last decision in the Clarity phase and the first input to everything in Confidence — the brand design, the website, the campaigns.

This isn’t a logo project. (That’s Brand Design, and it comes after this.) Brand positioning is strategy work, and the deliverable is a set of decisions your whole team can repeat.
Positioning audit
How you currently show up next to your competitors — on your website, in search, in reviews, in the words your own team uses to describe the business. We map what everyone in your market is claiming and find the ground nobody’s standing on.
Audience & category decisions
Who you’re for, and just as important, who you’re not for. What category the customer puts you in, and whether that’s the right one. Sometimes the strongest move is to redefine the category — the language school that’s really a community, the accounting firm that’s really a business advisor.
Positioning statement
One tight statement: for whom, what you are, what you do that matters to them, and why they should believe you. It won’t appear on your website word for word. It’s the thing every page, ad, and pitch is measured against.
Messaging framework
Your one-liner (problem, solution, result — the sentence everyone on your team should be able to say without thinking). Your core messages by audience. The proof points that back each one. The words you use and the words you avoid. This becomes the source document for your website copy and everything after it.
Brand voice
How you sound. Direct or warm, plain or polished, funny or not. Defined with examples, so a new hire or a new writer can pick it up and sound like you on day one.
Rollout
Positioning only works if it shows up everywhere. We map where it needs to land first — usually the homepage, your Google Business Profile, your sales deck, and your team’s own vocabulary — and hand off to Brand Design or Web Design & Development if you’re ready to rebuild around it.
Positioning we’ve built
We’ve positioned a surrogacy agency in a category where trust is everything, a telecom co-op competing with national carriers, a language school with students on four continents, and a real estate broker in one of the most crowded markets in the country. Different problems, same principle: be specifically for someone, and say so.
We’ve done this work for:
- Healthcare and specialized care services
- Education and private schools
- Professional services and B2B
- Real estate and property
- Telecommunications and utilities
- Nonprofits and membership organizations

View selected workPositioning starts with knowing your market.
You can’t decide what to claim until you know what your customers care about and what your competitors are already saying. Our guide to knowing your market covers how small businesses can do that research without a big budget — and how it turns into strategy.
